RAMMSTEIN : Reborn in Flames
German industrial metallers fine tune new album.
Industrial metal fire starters RAMMSTEIN are currently holed-up in the studio putting the finishing touches to the mixing process of their brand new album. The follow-up to 2005’s Rosenrot album remains untitled at the time of going to press, and is expected to be released in the autumn, with a single to precede it a month or two earlier. Recording began late last year in Los Angeles, but due to the band’s notoriously perfectionist instincts, tracking has only been recently completed.
According to reports, the band have also been collaborating with orchestral whiz Sven Helbig after deciding that several of the album’s tracks are to feature lavish string arrangements, orchestral parts and even a choir. Producer Jacob Hellner, who has worked on all five previous Rammstein albums, is again manning the controls. It has been several years since Rammstein last released a record.
Rosenrot provided the band with three successful singles in Benzi, Mann Gegen Mann and the title track, the videos for which can all be seen on YouTube. The band’s last major released was the lavish Volkerball DVD in 2006, which provided fans with a comprehensive souvenir from the extravagant tour that spawned its generous contents. Meanwhile, in 2007, founder member Richard Z Kruspe released the first, self-titled album from his side-project Emigrate and sneaked onto the soundtrack for Resident Evil: Extinction in the process.
